Mobile Responsive Design

The main principles of mobile responsive design:

• Responsive site template - the ability of the template to adapt to a range of different screen resolutions from a desktop computer to a smartphone;
• Responsiveness and mobility of content blocks - the ability of content blocks to take the necessary sizes as well as to relocate to another position in a site layout depending on screen resolution of the device;
• Responsiveness of images: images with size responding to screen resolution or adjusted images with less weight and size for lower screen resolutions;
• Using flexible grid systems allows to quickly change the layout design;
• Hiding less important content blocks: some blocks may be hidden on small screens;
• Revising the usability of navigation: due to low resolution of mobile devices the navigation elements become less clickable. In order to make them more convenient to use, their clickable area size gets enhanced;
• Simplification of elements on a web page: a number elements may be simplified for a convenient use on mobile devices;
• Video content responsiveness: video content adjustment should also be taken into account;
• Use of media queries allows to create responsive layouts;
• Mobile first approach implies that creation of a responsive design begins with the mobile version which is then adapted to larger screens.
